Relax and breath--there is no turtle shell in our turtle blend. It does, however, share some characteristics of a turtle in that the speed of our Turtle Blend more closely parallels that of a turtle relative to a Cheetah. Remember, "relative" is the key word. It is a slower blend and offers our clients with limited space or those who want a slower roll, a Bocce Court that is playable without everything running to the end wall. Many complaints from Bocce players is that their current surfaces might be too fast. Hard clay can be a much faster surface and difficult to control. Also courts that are hydrated and dry over many cycles, naturally become more compact. Our turtle blend extends the time period of any natural compaction and stays softer for longer periods. It's kind of like a freshly painted tennis court and one that's been around for years. The old one has been stripped of the sand or silica layer and is much faster. The new one grabs the balls and slows down the play allowing for more time, slower ball speeds and for many, a better game.
For those techie types--our Turtle Blend will not compact as dense as our other two blends and has a special natural ingredient which keeps the particles from compacting as tightly as our other blends. It also has superior drainage characteristics. If you want to speed it up for a short period, you simply hydrate and compact it knowing that it will only hold that compaction for a limited number of days until it returns to its true "turtle" nature.
